Have you ever wondered why many Christians don’t appear to be living the kind of lifestyle that Jesus said we should have?
Do you ever shake your head in bewilderment when you see or hear of good people suffering one misfortune after another?
Has it puzzled you that regardless of the professional help that many receive, some Christians continue to struggle with physical or mental ailments that are always present in their life?
Are you concerned at the frequency of breakdown in Christian marriages?
In the same way that we are subject to physical laws, such as the law of gravity, we are subject to spiritual laws also. If we defy the law of gravity we suffer the inevitable consequences. It may be unintentional; we may slip or trip, nevertheless we bear the outcome of the fall. Similarly, we bear the consequences if we breach spiritual laws unintentionally. Enemy agents, known also as spiritual forces, demons or devils, are quick to capitalise on a person’s ignorance of spiritual laws and to attack from a camouflaged position. They use particular strategies planned to bring defeat to people’s lives and then engineer situations to accomplish their evil purposes.
The human race lives in a matrix – these deceptive spiritual forces try to infiltrate our lives and most of the time we don’t realise that they’re even there.
Demons take advantage of family conflict, dysfunctional relationships, rejection, and all kinds of abuse to manipulate our emotions and control our actions. These sinister entities prey on our vulnerabilities, exploiting deep-seated insecurities and unresolved traumas to create chaos in our lives. These spiritual predators use seemingly benign activities to mask their true intentions while weaving a web of confusion and doubt around us. They delve into past events, rehashing painful memories and instilling fear that takes root in our minds.
Illnesses, both physical and emotional, serve as additional tools in their arsenal; they latch onto our ailments, whispering thoughts that erode our self-worth and cloud our judgment. Even our own thoughts can be manipulated, leading us to question our reality, making it increasingly difficult to discern genuine inspiration from manipulation. As we navigate through life, these deceptive forces seek to control and plunder our lives, ultimately stripping us of our peace, autonomy, and spiritual integrity.
Many Christians don’t seem to realize that when we entered into life at our birth, we were innocents born into a war zone. Although Jesus defeated the devil 2,000 years ago, Satan has been waging a guerilla war against the human race ever since. When we are born again, we begin to understand that we have enlisted in a spiritual army, and the war is real.
The Apostle Paul writes, “3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them” (2 Corinthians 4:3-4).
Demons work in darkness as much as possible, that is, without people recognizing what they’re doing, so deception is their most trusted weapon against the human race. We need to discern the ways in which demons deceive humanity and expel their activity from among us.
